Not going to lie, this 5 miler was not so fun. It was rainy, windy, and a bit chilly but not cold enough for an extra coat, and this run did not feel my best at all. There were a ton of people at the event
The Weather:
- The weather was not great. It wasn’t as cold as I thought it could be, but that’s only because this crazy weather has been NUTS! Below 50 in May? Great.. If there was less of a giant wind factor I feel like it would’ve been better, but that did not go over well.
The Course:
- This course goes south of Soldier Field, which is beautiful and a nice change up from the usual Chicago runs – BUT on a windy day, it was not ideal . There were no buildings and minimal trees to block it, so this was a struggle on the way back in after running south for a few miles.
The Gear:
- I rocked my standard Ballou Skies t-shirt, compression socks, and brought some Nuun with me to energize before & after the race.
